The Canary Islands celebrate one more year on May 30 with special relevance after having suffered the most serious health and economic crisis in recent decades. The institutional act that takes place from the Guimerá Theater Santa Cruz de Tenerife, will host the 2021 Gold Awards and Medals.
As of 20:30, the head of the Canarian Executive, Angel Victor Torres, will preside over the ceremony that also has the presence of the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, on behalf of the Government of Spain.
For the first time, the Canary Islands Award goes to three women. Specifically, it is the professor of the History of Music of the University of La Laguna (ULL), Rosario Alvarez Martinez, in the form of Historical Heritage; the professor of Romance Philology at the ULL, Dolores Corbella Diaz, in Innovation and Research. In addition, the professor of Pictorial Procedures and Techniques of the ULL is also honored Maria Isabel Nazco Hernandez, in Fine Arts and Interpretation.
