Canarias calls for the creation of two courts in social matters | Radio Club Tenerife

The Ministry of Public Administrations, Justice and Security has transferred the need to create in the Canary Islands this year two courts in social matters to face the crisis raised on the occasion of Covid-19.

In a statement, the regional government has indicated that it was transferred to that meeting, held via videoconference, by the Deputy Minister of Justice, Carla Vallejo, and the General Director of Relations with the Administration of Justice, Marta Bonnet, when addressing the work of preparation of the draft of a shock plan presented by the Ministry of Justice.

Said document will foreseeably contemplate a broad set of measures depending on the situation in which the judicial bodies find themselves, ranging from monitoring plans, the extension of working days, the appointment of reinforcement teams or specific units and the creation of new judicial bodies.

Specifically, the Canary Islands petition would result in the creation of the Social Court No. 11 of Las Palmas and the Social Court No. 9 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

For their part, Vallejo and Bonnet defended on behalf of the counselor that the assignment of a single unit would be insufficient to attend with a minimum of guarantees the increase in the processes derived from the health crisis that will occur in both provinces, counting, otherwise , the Autonomous Community with judicial facilities suitable for the creation of two courts.

For their part, the counselor, Julio Pérez and his team value the crash plan and consider it very positive, and recall that its implementation is conditional on monitoring and the imposition of specific objectives that guarantee its effectiveness.
