The Palencia town of Frómista It will be the “square” for the reflections of the associative fabric born around the phenomenon of pilgrimages on the tasks and challenges faced by groups and institutions in defense, promotion and management of the routes to Compostela. As well as the space where you can collect the demands and needs of foreign pilgrims facing the Jacobean Holy Year 2022.
An event that has the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the collaboration of Post, entity closely linked to the Jacobean routes from its program The Road with Post Office, Besides of Frómista City Council and the Government of Aragon.
The appointment will be held this weekend, from Friday 27th and 29th August. On the occasion of the preparation of the Jacobean Holy Year in 2021, the Association of Municipalities of the Camino de Santiago (AMCS) has already organized a first International Meeting of Associations of Friends of the Camino de Santiago in Carrión de los Condes to try to make a better Camino with their contributions and ideas. Several of these ideas have been transferred to the ministries of the Central Government with powers on the Camino.
MEETING. The II Meeting will start Friday at 7 p.m. in the courtyard of the Provincial Palace, with the reception of the president of the Provincial Council, Ángeles Armisén, and a subsequent visit to the modernist building from the 20th century.
Saturday The working days begin at 10:00 a.m. in which 17 foreign organizations will participate, in addition to the Junta de Castilla y León, the Diputación de Palencia, Correos, the Civil Guard, the Xacobeo, the Spanish Federation of Associations of Friends of the Camino de Santiago, the FICS and the AMCS itself.
On Sunday The Ages of Man will be visited at its headquarters in Carrión and previously a guided visit will be made to Frómista, a relevant enclave of the Camino de Santiago.
