Call of Sea promises 4K @ 60 FPS with RayTracing on Xbox Series X

In an interview with Xbox Wire with Manuel Fernandez, co-founder and programmer of Out of the Blue, detailed great information about optimizing the game Call of the Sea for the Xbox Series X, revealing details of great interest such as the resolution it will reach, the frame rate it will reach or the use of RayTracing technology.

Summarizing the information, it was indicated that thanks to the great power of the console will offer 4K @ 60 FPS gameplay, and all backed by technology DirectX RayTracing to offer a greater immersion in the island to which the title will take us, which translates into better lighting and shadow effects.

As if this were not enough, this game could include a high frame rate mode which translates into great fluidity when reaching 120 FPS (although at a lower resolution), and it is also indicated that thanks to the Xbox Velocity Architecture technology used in the SSD, have virtually eliminated any load time in the game.

In addition to taking advantage of the power and performance of the Xbox Series X for faster charging times, etc., what features of the Xbox Series X were you most excited to explore in developing Call of the Sea?

Definitely benefiting from the power and performance of the new generation is something everyone is looking for; However, it is not the only thing that caught our attention. We believe that some features like Smart Delivery are building the future of gaming by putting gamers first, and we are happy to be a part of it.

How will these improvements impact the gaming experience?

With the Smart Delivery feature, players will always have access to the best version of the game. Sharing configurations and games between different systems is what makes us design the game as a whole and not as something that is linked to a single platform. On the other hand, the power and performance of the Xbox Series X will allow us to offer the game in a stunning 4K resolution at 60 FPS, to take full advantage of the wonderful gaming environments, highlighting its art.

Why did your developer team decide to focus on 4K @ 60fps resolution and DirectX RayTracing to improve Call of the Sea?

Our main objective is to offer the best possible gaming experience. Although we have a stylized style, we wanted to add a next generation look, full of visual effects and movement on the scene. With DirectX RayTracing we will have the opportunity to make the island even more real, to come alive. Players will have the opportunity to enjoy the stunning surroundings of the island in incredible 4K resolution, giving them a greater overall experience and immersion.

Plus, the power of this new hardware doesn’t compromise frame rate or resolution at all. We can finally offer the best of both worlds to Xbox Series X players!

How has the process of developing this game been on Xbox Series X?

We are still in the early stages of experimenting with new hardware and are exploring how far we can go. We are working in parallel with the advances in Unreal Engine, the graphics engine in which we are developing the game, to implement them in the version for Xbox Series X. Both Microsoft and Epic Games are doing an excellent job in providing tools to developers for that its development is as simple as possible.

What are the improvements that Call of the Sea Take advantage of the Xbox Series X that excites you the most?

The graphic power that allows us to show our scenarios in 4K @ is something that really excites us. Sometimes it allows us to take our images to where our only limit is creativity.
