Cadillac Forgotten Cemetery is taking part in the 6th Printemps des cemeteries

Listed as a historical monument, the “cemetery of the mad” is participating for the first time in the national operation on Friday 21, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 May

An event dedicated to the enhancement of funeral heritage, the Printemps des cemeteries, created in 2016, will have its sixth edition on Friday 21, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 May.

What is funerary heritage? This term encompasses monuments and sites linked to death or to the afterlife (cemeteries, tombs, archaeological sites). It is a little known and little highlighted heritage. However, like any type of heritage, it deserves to be safeguarded. It contains just as many treasures and stories as the largest burial sites such as the Taj Mahal or the pyramids of Giza!

Free life course and guided tours

Cadillac is participating for the first time in this event by offering to discover the recently rehabilitated cemetery of the Forgotten and, through this particularly moving site, atypical life paths in the heart of the XXe century.

Free guided tours will allow you to immerse yourself in the painful and fascinating history of this place of memory, called the madman’s cemetery before its renovation and now classified as a Historic Monument.

Friday May 21 at 8 p.m., Saturday May 22 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., Sunday May 23 at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Reservation required (be careful with limited gauges) on 05 57 98 02 10.
