It was on 11 February this year that the 32-year-old man broke into a warehouse in the English town of Telford and stole 200,000 chocolate eggs worth over NOK 400,000.
The chocolate eggs were of the type “Cadbury Creme Eggs.” The British eggs have a yellow and white filling, are only sold at Easter and have almost cult status in the country.
The Briton pleaded guilty just days after the chocolate robbery. Now he has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.
It writes, among other things CNN.
In court, it emerged that the “Easter bunny” used a stolen tractor to tow the eggs from the warehouse.
Earlier, the man’s defense lawyer John McMillan said he stopped the vehicle when he realized someone was following him.
– He realized the game was over, he realized the police were behind him and he pulled to the side, McMillan said, adding:
– He showed no resistance and was then arrested.
After the arrest, police in West Mercia wrote that they had “saved Easter for Creme egg fans”.
