Cáceres City Hall commits to transparency and respectful relationship with Citizen Platform Save the Mountain regarding Valdeflores Mine project

This morning a meeting took place at the Cáceres City Hall between the mayor, Rafa Mateos and part of his government team and the Citizen Platform Save the Mountain. A first contact in which the mayor has promised to be transparent in everything that refers to the Valdeflores Mine project, and to maintain a “fruitful and respectful” relationship with the Platform

The objective of the meeting is for there to be a “fluid” and “cordial” relationship, said the mayor of Cáceres, who He has insisted again that he does not know the project, since it has not yet been registered, and once it is submitted, the corresponding reports are collected and the impact statement is issued “the project will have to be assessed and a decision made, and there will be an unbreakable line: respect for the law”, Rafael Mateos said.

For his part, Eduardo Mostazo, from the Platform, appreciated the government team’s commitment to transparency, and insisted that the project is illegal and detrimental to the city, and they did not rule out going to court if the project goes ahead.

Mostazo also announced his intention to request a meeting with the president of the Extremadura board, María Guardiola, to discuss the issue of the lithium mine project.
