Bus blazes in Liège: no injuries

A bus burned in Liège this Saturday evening at 10:11 pm rue Renoz, between the Pont de Huy and the Pont Albert. An explosion followed the fire. She was heard throughout the neighborhood. Residents could see a large plume of smoke “and flames at least five meters high” describes a witness.

The explosion: two tires

The bus was empty at the time of the explosion, explains the Liège police. “He had just dropped off his last passenger. The driver, who was left alone on board, saw smoke coming from the heat engine at the back of the bus. He got out and saw the fire. He called the firefighters.” The explosion that surprised the residents of the neighborhood was not that of the reservoir as we first believed. “These are two tires that exploded under the effect of heat” specifies the police of Liège.

Rescue services are on site. The fire is accidental. He is under control, but Renoz Street remains closed to traffic, the time to evacuate the wreckage of the bus.
