The driver was taken to hospital by ambulance. An officer chased after the ambulance because the victim reacted aggressively after the accident. It is unknown what caused the aggression. The man had to be subdued by several officers.
It is unclear if the man was under the influence, police said. The aggression may also have a medical cause, police said on the spot. “Internal injuries can also lead to aggressive behavior.”
The police are investigating how the accident could have happened, after which the bus is later towed again. The van was subsequently towed. The road manager will replace the traffic light that was damaged in the collision.
