The building was burnt so black that it was impossible to recognize its shape.

Fallen trees are scattered around the area.

At around 6:37 pm yesterday, a fire broke out in the Daeungjeon Hall of Naejangsa Temple in Jeongeup, Jeollabuk-do.

Fire departments estimated 1.7 billion won in damage, including all buildings being burned.

It was A monk who entered this temple three months ago.

About five minutes after the fire was set on, I called the police directly and reported that “I set the fire.”

The police said that the monks who were with them were sad, drinking alcohol, and accidentally committing a crime.

The police arrested Mr. A, who was at the scene, on charges of arson in the prefectural building and applied for a warrant for arrest.

Jogye-jong said that it would punish the monk at the highest level and thoroughly investigate the cause and background of the arson incident.

The Daewoongjeon Hall of Naejangsa Temple, which caught fire this time, was burned in 2012 due to an electric short circuit and then rebuilt.
