BERGAMBACHT –
A 27-year-old man who broke into a house on the Broekselaantje in Bergambacht on Friday morning was arrested by the police in a house in Gouda. A second burglar managed to flee. To find the pair, the police deployed several units and a police helicopter.

The two burglars allegedly broke into a house in Bergambacht, where residents were sleeping, on the night from Thursday to Friday. After they discovered the burglars, the duo used violence against the resident to leave the house.
The two men ran off on a scooter after the break-in. Police units from The Hague, Rotterdam, the Central Netherlands and the Landelijke Eenheid, among others, went after the pair. A police helicopter was also used to track down the perpetrators and to keep track of them.
Police dog
One of the suspects had fled a house on the Getijmolenerf in Gouda. The 27-year-old man was found and arrested with the help of a police dog. His partner managed to escape and the police are still looking for him.
The police say that the victim is very shocked, but that she is making amends in circumstances.
