Bundesliga: Thomas Broich hires as coach at Eintracht Frankfurt

Thomas Broich (39) was only happy again in Australia – but he has long since regained the desire for German football.

And now the TV expert, who was supposed to accompany ARD for the EM, which has now been postponed to 2021, has another job in active football: From summer on, Broich will train the U15 of Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt together with Jerome Polenz (33).

But first he wants to work from the small places in the youth area for the professionals. “Developing the game concept first and implementing it in a second step is the perfect constellation for us,” explains Broich. “We thank Eintracht for the trust they have placed in us.”

Apparently there are big pieces on the duo. “Thomas Broich and Jerome Polenz are a young and dynamic team of trainers and fit very well into our new training philosophy,” says Andreas Möller (52), head of the youth development center. “I am very much looking forward to working with you and I am sure that our talents will benefit from it.”

Fredi Bobic (48) also relies on this. “Jerome and Thomas have been working in our game design team for several months. Whoever talks to both of them feels their passion for football and their technical know-how, ”enthuses the sports director of Eintracht:“ That is exactly what our boys in the U15 will do well. And for both of them, this station is an excellent way to start working as a trainer. ”

Incidentally, Broich and Polenz got to know each other as active professionals at Brisbane Roar, where Broich became the absolute crowd favorite from 2010 to 2017, was crowned Australian champion three times and was named the A-League footballer of the decade. (ars)
