Mönchengladbach (SID) – Scorer Robert Lewandowski from the German soccer record champions Bayern Munich has scored a goal on matchday 1 for the seventh season in a row at the start of the 59th Bundesliga season. No other player in Bundesliga history scored in so many consecutive seasons.

In the opening game at Borussia Mönchengladbach (1: 1), the 32-year-old Pole scored the goal to make it 1: 1 in the 42nd minute. Previously, Alassane Plea (10th) was the first Gladbach player since 1975 to score the first goal of the season of a season.
