Bulls rout Mavs 144-115 without Doncic

CHICAGO (AP) — DeMar DeRozan had 28 points and nine rebounds as the Chicago Bulls capitalized on the absence of NBA leading scorer Luka Doncic to beat the Dallas Mavericks 144-115 on Saturday.

Doncic sat out with a right quadriceps strain. Josh Allen was also sidelined with a sprained right elbow, and center Maxi Kleber missed the game with a sore right foot. Doncic had 33 points and 11 assists in the Mavs’ 106-105 home loss to Milwaukee on Friday.

Nikola Vucevic added 20 points and eight rebounds, Ayo Dosunmu had 17 points to help Chicago win its second straight game. Zach LaVine, Patrick Williams and Derrick Jones Jr. each had 16 points as the Bulls had a season-high 63.5% from the field in their best offensive output of the season.

Spencer Dinwiddie had 27 points for Dallas and Christian Wood added 21. They lost game two on back-to-back nights after winning three in a row, having the most points this season.
