Buffalo shot down attacks hunter just before death Abroad

Chris McSherry, 35, was hunting in Australia. He thought he killed the 800-pound water buffalo after firing several arrows at the animal. “I was just able to turn around and take three steps before he attacked me from behind and put his horn in my thigh and pushed me forward,” McSherry tells NT News.

“Then I fell to the floor and he attacked me again, lifted me by my right leg and threw me three meters further on the ground.” Then the buffalo pushed the man to the ground with his horns. Chris managed to escape by rolling away. The buffalo died shortly afterwards.

He shares photos of his serious injuries on Facebook. “There’s a hole the size of a can of Coke above my knee and a six-inch cut under my butt.”

The father of five has had surgery twice. He may still be waiting for a skin transplant. But he does not think about stopping hunting: “Thanks for all the love and support and I come here to hunt again.”
