The Brussels minister (Groen) was reacting to the criticisms made by the Celeval expert group, which is assisting the government in the measures to be adopted to fight against the coronavirus.

Sf the figures for the coronavirus epidemic in the capital are not weakening, new measures will be decided to bend the contaminations curve, said the Minister of Health in the college of the Joint Community Commission, Elke Van den on Tuesday morning Brandt, on Radio 1. For the ecologist, the current measures must also be maintained.

Elke Van den Brandt (Groen) thus reacted to the criticisms voiced by the Celeval expert group, which assists the government in the measures to be adopted to fight against the coronavirus. Useful, the wearing of the compulsory mask in the public space, imposed since Wednesday on any person aged 12 years or more, must however be supplemented by additional measures, estimate the experts.

In five days, the impact of the obligation to wear a mask in the street and in private places accessible to the public cannot be measured, reacts the minister. You usually have to wait two weeks for that, she adds. This measure must be respected and, for the moment, the important thing is to ensure that it is, underlines the ecologist.

If new measures are not excluded, the Brussels government is waiting to see what will emerge from the National Security Council, which is due to meet on Thursday.
