Bruce Wayne’s Popularity Wanes Even Among DC Universe Fans: The Case of Batman

Is there a general fed up around the figure of Batman? It would seem that the bat man, ubiquitous on the screens and in the pages of comic books, has tired moviegoers and readers. Too much put forward by DC Comics, Bruce Wayne is no longer as fashionable as before… And it’s even them who say so!

even dc comics characters can’t take batman anymore…

Since the early 2000s, Batman’s place in the DC Comics superhero pantheon has grown to prominence not negligible. We can even say that the bat man has supplanted his colleague Superman in popularity… Between Christopher Nolan’s trilogy (Batman Begins in 2005, The Dark Knight in 2008 and The Dark Knight Rises in 2012), the DCEU (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League) and Matt Reeves’ project with Robert Pattinson in 2022, Bruce Wayne is everywhere. But this sometimes contradictory media overexposure of the character (too many different interpreters, juxtaposed stories) could well be right for the attraction of the public for him. And now, DC Comics admits it!

Justice Society of America #3 by Geoff Johns, Jerry Ordway, and Mikel Janín

In a new publication titled Justice Society of America #3 (Geoff Johns, Jerry Ordway et Mikel Janín), Helena Wayne (a.k.a Huntress) inquires with members of the Justice League Dark about the time-traveling villain Per Degaton. After Helena shows the team the item that took her back to the past, Detective Chimp and Deadman send Doctor Fate to escort Helena to meet the Justice Society of America. Huntress then gives them the help they need to take down a supervillainBizarro, and Fate introduce her to the team, who take her back to their headquarters to verify her story.

After being convinced, the team makes the decision to bring in the rest of its members. Helena being the future daughter of Batman and Catwoman, Alan Scott then insists on informing Bruce Wayne as well. But Power Girl opposes this and asks why Batman has to be involved in every situation.

Batman et Catwoman

It seems comic book fans aren’t the only ones who are sick of seeing Batman everywhere! Even DC is beginning to chafe at Bruce Wayne’s constant involvement…

And you what do you think ?
