At the end of the tiebreaker, Bron toppled Toulouse to afford his first Trophée des Villes de pétanque. For Christian Fazzino it is a third star.
The spectacular Bron against Toulouse holding: Trophée des Villes final looked like a dream poster. In a Blue Room in Palavas-les-Flots packed to bursting, first place for doubles. Christian Fazzino and the young Clément Bousquet face Rocky Rathqueber and Diego Ivanovich. Passed several times very close to elimination, Toulouse seem to approach this final without pressure. 2-0, then 4-0 after two finals for Haut-Garonne. Christian Fazzino stops the bleeding (4-1), but the two from Toulouse continue to play their part (1-7 then 1-8). A four-point lead from Fazzino and Bousquet bodes well for Bron (5-8). But every time the Rodanese approach, the Haut-Garonnais leave again (5-11). In the end, Rathqueber and Ivanovitch win (5-13).
In the other double, Christophe Sarrio and François N’Diaye challenge the Faurel brothers, Paul and Bryan. Even there the Toulouse opened the scoring (1-0), but on the difficult terrain of the place of honor it was the exceptional shooters who made the difference, Sarrio and N’Diaye (1-5). Toulouse comeback slightly (5-2), but Bron starts again (10-2). The Faurel brothers hold on (10-5 then 10-8). Unleashed, Toulouse even takes the lead (10-11)! Two more points and the Faurel brothers win (10-13), completely ousting Bron.

Before the hat-trick Bron is therefore with his back to the wall. The Fazzino-Sarrio-N’Diaye trio faces the brothers Faurel and Rathqueber. Touched in their pride after the two braces lost, the Rhodanians attack this hat-trick with a beating drum: 4-0 at the end of the first set. Bron continues (6-0) and crosses the first goal of the half game (7-0).
The reigning champions put an end to the dynamics of the Rhône (7-2). But a completely missed Toulouse lead gives Bron five points (12-2). Only one point is missing, which the Rhodanians add (13-2). Then it’s time for a new and final tiebreaker in this suspenseful Cities Trophy.
At the end of the first workshop, Toulouse is in the lead (12-6). The Tolosains confirm their status as drill specialists, but Bron has the answer (22-19 for the Rhodanians after the second workshop). Bron takes off (34-27) before the last workshop, Toulouse tries to come back, but it is finally the young Clément Bousquet who gives Bron his first Trophy of the Cities. And a third star to boss Christian Fazzino.
