British government may approve contact training this week

The British government can approve physical contact in training later this week, according to the secretary of culture and sport, Oliver Dowden.

The executive approved small group training last week and Premier League clubs agreed to start as of Tuesday.

The next step is phase two, in which physical contact would already be allowed, with the entrances at ground level, for example, before being able to play games of eleven against eleven.

“We already gave the recommendations for training without contact and they were published earlier this week. Now I hope, subject to the approval of the health service in England, that by the end of the week I will get the recommendations on contact training in elite sports , so they can start training, “Dowden said.

The secretary also explained that after this they will work on the recommendations for the competition to return behind closed doors.

“If we can do it safely, I would like to be able to get it up and running in mid-June,” he added.

The date of June 12 is the one that the Premier League has between eyebrows for the return of the competition, although it could be altered by the requests of players and coaches for more preparation time.
