British COVID-19 Variant Detected in Asia, Beware of 3 Symptoms

VIVA – After the UK, a newer variant of COVID-19 has been found in one of the countries in Asia, namely India. According to a recent report, there are at least 4 people who have tested positive for the South African variant of COVID-19 (variant B.1.351), and 1 person positive for the Brazilian variant (variant B.1.1.28.1 or P.1).

This news comes at a time when the number of COVID-19 cases in India has reached its lowest point. While mutations with any virus are not uncommon, the recent trend in numbers is alarming, making them frightening.

Global case analyzes have shown that the new mutation is more contagious, and can even carry more symptoms than previously thought.

The UK variant of COVID-19 remains the most threatening so far, with higher infection and death rates. However, the South African and Brazilian variants could match the British equivalent, which also fueled fear.
