Britain is furious, sex scandal makes Queen Elizabeth angry

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia Queen Elizabeth II reportedly ‘expelled’ her son Prince Andrew, from military affiliation and royal patronage. This comes amid allegations of sex scandals with minors that ensnared the Duke of York in United States courts (US).

Prince Charles’ sister will also no longer use the title ‘His Royal Highness’ in any official capacity. Prince Andrew’s role will be passed to another member of the royal family.

“With the Queen’s consent and approval, the Duke of York’s military affiliation and royal patronage have been returned to the Queen,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

“The Duke of York will continue to abstain from public duty and defend his case as a citizen.”

The announcement comes hours after the Queen received letters from more than 150 Royal Navy, Air Force and Army veterans. They asked the Queen to strip her second child of all his titles and ranks in the armed forces.

“Prince Andrew has failed to meet the military’s highest standards of honesty, honesty and honorable conduct,” the letter read.

Previously, a woman named Virginia Giuffre sued Prince Andrew August 27, 2021. She is said to have abused Giuffre when she was 17 years old and forced to have sex.

The woman admitted that the incident was carried out simultaneously by Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Eipsten. Eipsten was a suspected child predator who died in prison in 2019 and is believed to be the source of the rift between Bill Gates and his ex-wife Melinda.

Prince Andrew himself through his lawyers often denied. He admitted that he had never met Giuffre even though there were photos of the two together.

Andrew’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, even urged a US judge to drop the lawsuit. The reason is that there was already a settlement that Giuffre signed in 2009 with the late Epstein.

But Wednesday, New York Judge Lewis Kaplan said he rejected any motion to dismiss the complainant’s civil complaint. Kaplan said in his 46-page decision that the agreement was “riddled with problems and ambiguous”.

“The parties have articulated at least two plausible interpretations of critical language. Therefore, the agreement is ambiguous,” the judge wrote in his ruling.

“Andrew is not a party to the agreement between Epstein and Ms. Giuffre.”

Previously this case also involved British socialite, Ghislaine Maxwell. The woman was found guilty in December 2021.
