At the Bouckaert car garage along the Harelbeeksestraat in Kuurne, 7 cars were hit by a heap of bricks on Friday afternoon. Those bricks suddenly came loose from a meter high wall, just next to the car garage. The garage owner was on leave, but was able to arrive immediately.
It is not clear why the bricks suddenly came loose. There wasn’t a strong wind and the garage manager had never noticed any cracks in the wall. The remaining bricks are removed preventively by a contractor.
Of the 7 affected cars, 6 were intended for sale. There was one Mercedes that was less than a year old and had driven barely 8,000 kilometers. The new price of such a Mercedes is about 40,000 euros. The other car had to be repaired.
