Bremen is worth a trip again – local sports

Heiko Oetjen has been working in the sports department of the Walsroder Zeitung since 1994. The married father of two daughters completed his journalistic training in his home district of Verden. While studying political science at the University of Bremen, he earned his first spurs in his later career as a freelance newspaper employee in the southern Heidekreis.

At WZ, in addition to sports reporting, Heiko Oetjen is particularly active in various areas of editorial marketing. As a fan of FC Bayern Munich, his interests lie in football, but he also enjoys handball, motor sports, combat and US sports.

In his free time, the enthusiastic hobby cook spends a lot of time with his family and their two dogs and cats, likes to play cards or drive around in his “old Swede” without a roof to get in the way. He prefers to watch sports live in the stadium or in the hall instead of sitting in front of the television. The same applies to enjoying music – motto: “Only when it’s loud!”
