Brazil was with Larissa Pimenta (-57kg), Maria Portela (-70kg) and Mayra Aguiar (+70kg), among the women, and Daniel Cargnin (-73kg), Rafael Macedo (90kg) and Rafael Silva (+90kg), among men. The two team medalists (Mayra and Cargnin foram bronze in the individual) won their fights.

Bronze in the individual, Mayra Aguiar from Rio Grande do Sul came under the pressure of not being defeated. How the competition works
This is the first time that team competition takes place in a mixed form (with men and women) in the history of the Olympics. With three women and three men divided into light, medium and heavy categories, each fight is worth one point and the team that gets four first is the winner. In case of a 3-3 tie, one of the categories is drawn for the tiebreaker.
