Erling Braut Haaland and teammates in Borussia Dortmund got little to vote in the season finale in the Bundesliga. The away team’s Andrej Kramarić became the big player of the match with four scores. In doing so, he made sure to shoot Håvard Nordtveits Hoffenheim to the Europa League. Nordtveit played the last seven minutes of the match.
At the opposite end of the table Werder Bremen showed muscles at home against Cologne. With the 6-1 victory, they passed Uwe Rösler’s Fortuna Düsseldorf and hijacked the qualifying spot.
Borussia Dortmund had nothing to play for. 2nd place was secured a week ago and it really looked like the players had taken early holidays. Mistakes, weak defense and a number of personal errors were utilized to the maximum by Kramarić.
“It’s one of the weakest I’ve seen Dortmund this season,” Viasats Morten Langli concluded.
– A disaster fight from A to Z, he continued.
Dortmund coach Lucien Favre was not happy with the performance at all.
– That was not good. We were not present and we were giving out gifts. We should have been more patient, but this fight is just to forget quickly. We came second and reached our goal. We have played a good season, he says.
Keeper Roman Burki thinks the players did not have their heads with them.
– Bayern have an incredible winning mentality. Maybe sometimes we just have the wrong mentality and the wrong attitude, he said after the end of the game.
Braut Haaland was invisible for much of the match. The Norwegian ended the season with 13 scores in 15 games.
Bayern Munich rolled over Wolfsburg and did not stop until it was 4-0. The German big team scored a total of 100 goals during the season – one goal less than in the 1971/72 record season. Robert Lewandowski became the top scorer with a total of 34 online appearances.
Borussia Mönchengladbach secured 4th place as they dropped a Hertha Berlin team without Rune Almenning Jarstein or Per Ciljan Skjelbred from the start.
Jarstein and his wife are expecting their third child. So he got off on Saturday, while Skjelbred got his last minutes for Hertha before moving to Rosenborg when he entered the break.
