Boyko Borissov: Billions are being collected, Bulgaria will be nationalized

“Currently the situation is a catastrophe. Everything is catastrophic and there is no way out,” GERB leader Boyko Borissov told party members and supporters in Haskovo today.

“Billions will be collected, they will privatize what is most valuable and bring you income, and they will leave someone to tighten their belts. But it will not be us,” said the former prime minister, referring to the Electricity System Operator and the gas network.

After Borissov’s arrest, the EPP wants to monitor Bulgaria

“Last year we left a full fiscal reserve – 11-12 billion; we left one billion levs to complete the Hemus highway, and 1.2 billion levs to build water supply and sewerage,” Borissov said.

According to him, now the government is spending money that it did not earn and which we all have to return later.

“We will eat them now, inflation is melting them, but then loans and interest rates are coming back. Banks no longer want to lend money,” the GERB leader said. According to him, President Rumen Radev “must bear responsibility for those he has brought”.

Borissov addressed members and supporters of the party, saying the ruling party should be allowed to collapse. He added that the current government has many powerful patrons, a lot of money from the oligarchs, but the treasury is already empty.

Borissov is in Haskovo with part of GERB’s parliamentary group and former ministers.

“Our state ship no longer has a captain,” said former Health Minister Kostadin Angelov. “We live in a state of treason,” said MP Desislava Atanasova. According to former Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, there are lobbying and corruption issues in the Recovery and Sustainability Plan. The failure of the government is not our success, Donchev commented.
