The balls boy caused a crisis during the Zambian ZESCO and Zamalek meeting, in the match held at “Levy Mwanawasa” stadium on Saturday evening, in the third round of the group stage of the African Champions League.
The match stopped for a short period in the 69th minute after the balls boy protested to give the substitutes players Zamalek a warm-up shirt as a “towel” to goalkeeper Mohamed Abu Jabal, before a simple argument took place and the referee intervened to end it.
Substitute Mustafa Mohamed scored the goal for Zamalek in the 73rd minute of a header, taking advantage of a cross by Mohamed Abdel Shafi, before the hosts scored the equalizer goal through Kula in the 78th minute of the meeting.
Zamalek raised its score to four points, to finish second behind Congolese leader Mazembe with seven points, while ZESCO increased its score to two points in third place.
