Arsenal lagged 0-1 to Bournemouth in round I at the Emirates Stadium, Saturday (4/3/2023) evening WIB. The visitors took the lead thanks to Philip Billing’s 11 second goal.

GOAL! Bournemouth immediately took the lead from kick off. Dango Ouattara controlled the ball on the right, then sent a cross which the Arsenal defense failed to secure.

Philip Billing escaped guard and grabbed the ball in front of goal. Bournemouth took the lead in 11 seconds!

Opportunity for Arsenal in the third minute. Martin Odegaard’s shot was blocked by Neto, then Bukayo Saka controlled the rebound and his shot was also blocked.

Arsenal almost conceded again in the 20th minute. Bournemouth launched a quick attack with Billing cutting down the left and crossing for Solanke and Ouattara on the right.

Both were in free positions, but it was Ouattara who grabbed the ball. His kick was successfully blocked by Aaron Ramsdale who was moving forward!

A low kick from Odegaard in the 38th minute hit a player and rolled to the right of the goal. Bournemouth threatened again from a counter-attack five minutes later led by Solanke, but Arsenal were neutralized.

VAR checks potential penalties in Marcos Senesi’s duel with Takehiro Tomiyasu. But it was decided there was no violation there. The first round is over.
