SUEZ continues its commitment to work-study programs

and welcomes 39 new apprentices in the East region

This Thursday, October 21, Pierre KLONINGER, Director of SUEZ in the Eastern Region, welcomed 39 new employees on a work-study basis. This time for meetings and discussions with the teams, organized remotely for the first time, facilitates their integration into the Group. Despite the health context, SUEZ reaffirms its responsibility as an employer by offering young people the opportunity to train and acquire significant first experience in environmental professions.

With 1,120 employees in the Eastern Region, including nearly 300 people in Dijon (regional headquarters) and 58 young people on work-study programs, SUEZ, as a local company, contributes to the economic activity and employment of a whole region. Each year, in this same territory, the group recruits more than 170 people on CDI, CDD or work-study programs.
In 2021, SUEZ hired 39 work-study trainees from CAP to Bac + 5 in the Eastern Region, including 14 in the Côte-d’Or department. Work-study students prepare for water jobs such as network operator or technician, maintenance technician, electromechanic, customer management technician, engineer, human resources assistant, etc.

Specific initiatives on shortage jobs

Certain profiles specific to the water professions are particularly sought after by SUEZ. Indeed, “classic” maintenance training, for example, does not always meet the requirements of the sector. Faced with this situation, SUEZ, the UIMM Bourgogne 21-71 training center and the GEIQ industrie (Group of Employers for Integration and Qualification) have joined forces to train future technicians in the water professions on a work-study basis. territory of Grand Chalon and of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Grand Est regions.

A lasting commitment to training the employees of tomorrow

Throughout 2021, SUEZ’s Social Innovation Department organized with employment prescribers (Pole emploi, local missions, associations and foundations working in favor of employment and integration) and job seekers, 12 webinars in France to raise awareness of environmental professions and present positions open to work-study programs.

This strong SUEZ commitment to employment and training continues with the 2021-2022 recruitment campaign. Candidates can apply on the site: https://www.suez.com/fr/carrieres/nos-offres-d-emplois-recrutement

Jean-Baptiste CLEMENT, former work-study student, is now Head of the Network Performance Pole for Odivea, the water and sanitation service dedicated to Dijon Métropole (21). “As part of my training for an engineering degree at the Institut Supérieur des Techniques de la Performance (ISTP) in Saint-Etienne, I worked as a work-study project manager at SUEZ for the deployment of intelligent solutions. sanitation and monitoring of the water network in Saône-et-Loire.
