Calls for the border strike not to be ruled out without a reduction in the flow of illegal migrants: it can happen at any minute

Delphi recalls that between 1 and 25 October, 1739 illegal migrants were trafficked, compared with 981 throughout September.

During the past day, from Monday midnight to Tuesday, border guards prevented 120 migrants from entering Belarus.

On Sunday, 67 foreigners were refused entry from the country, and on Saturday, the number had risen to one of the highest since the beginning of August – 183.

Border guards did not allow 76 migrants on Friday, 57 on Thursday, 79 on Wednesday, and 55 on Tuesday.

“It can happen at our border at any minute”

Member of the Labor Party faction and member of the Seimas NSGK A. Mazuronis Delphi said on Tuesday that the flow of illegal migrants could still skyrocket.

“We see the number of people in Belarus, we see those flights, despite the fact that regular flights are suspended, charter flights are still going on. And we see information about tens of thousands of people trapped in Belarus.

And naturally, they will probably be forced to look for a way either through Lithuania, or Latvia, or Poland. And those numbers naturally surge and rise, it’s a natural process. There is nothing new here, “said MP Mazuronis.

At the same time, the politician said that the government’s reversal policy should be welcomed. Somewhere late, but the signal is clear – “Lithuania is not a transitional yard ”.

“It simply came to our notice then. (…) Not peak, I think not really yet. I think there is an opportunity and those numbers will increase as circumstances change in Poland, in Latvia. Naturally, that flow will only increase, “said the employee.

A. Mazuronis stated that it is necessary to prepare for this situation – to gather the necessary capacities, to build physical barriers.

“In order to maintain the most important element of statehood, border security,” Delphi said the parliamentarian.

According to A. Mazuronis, the images captured a few days ago on the Polish-Belarusian border may be repeated in Lithuania as well.

“We are ready. It is also a natural process here, those tens of thousands of people are trapped there in such traps. And such a reaction, which we have seen at the Polish border, can naturally take place at the Lithuanian-Latvian border as well. Because those people have no choice – they are pressured to leave Belarus, so to speak.

When walls are clipped, people’s psychological health probably knocks out the fuses as well. And such cases will only increase. We need to be prepared for this and realize that it can happen at our border at any minute. We will not avoid it, “said Member of the Seimas A. Mazuronis.

He stated that he was convinced that Lithuania was ready for such incidents.

“Principle decisions may be needed”

Chairman of the NSGK, Representative of the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD) in the Seimas L. Kasčiūnas Delphi stated that as winter approached Belarus will try to get rid of the illegal migrants concentrated in the country.

“Belarus has a large number of illegal migrants. The forecasts for the number are varied, but we focus on about 10 thousand. people probably. Those people are busy. And it is natural that as winter approaches, Belarus is trying to get rid of them as much as possible and create humanitarian problems. Lukashenko does not cost a living, it must be clearly understood and he will do everything to expel those people from the country with all the consequences that follows from it, ”said L. Kasčiūnas.

The politician said there could be tragic stories to “torpedo our reversal policy.”

“The most effective tool was to knock all the cards out of his hand. Here is its main purpose, for which it can use various means, such as concentrating mass illegal migrants. Ir Poland “This choice is made for two reasons – because one border is smaller and the other – to incite human rights problems due to Poland’s difficult relations with the EU,” the head of the NSGK said.

He urged human rights defenders in Lithuania to “be a cold mind” and not to compare the situation of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia with Belarus in their assessments.

Asked how much more the number of illegal migrants trying to enter Lithuania could rise, the chairman of the NSGK L. Kasčiūnas stated that it is difficult to predict so far.

L. Kasčiūnas also urges not to reject the scenario that took place near the Polish border, when several dozen illegal migrants stormed it. He said that the public should also be prepared for such a possible course of events.

“It simply came to our notice then. Let’s not rule it out, everything needs to be prepared. We are really getting ready, we have calculated various scenarios. Only we, the whole society, need to prepare for that to happen. And that principled decisions may be needed. The reversal will need to continue, the essential point here. If only there will be a break, everything will be a transitional yard. We will no longer be a state. We have to keep it all up and continue that reversal. ” Delphi L. Kasčiūnas, the chairman of NSGK, said on Tuesday.
