With a clever trick, he wants to dive below the price of the PlayStation 5.
The Corona measures affect everyone, including Phil Spencer, who is responsible for the Xbox Series X. This means that he has to do his promotional tour for the new console a little differently than expected. He was therefore interrogated from his living room. Apparently, he really felt at home. The interview is over an hour long and they discuss endless details about the Xbox Series X.
It explains why the Xbox Series X does not have an optical audio port. As he did before, he referred to numerous user surveys and indicated that he wanted to use the console space for other things. In addition, costs (approximately $ 2 per console) are included. The choice was to delete the portal. Instead, the sound goes through the HDMI connection. Suppliers are aware of this and adjust the compatibility of their product.
He also says he does not yet expect a delay from the Corona virus. For him, production is on schedule.

He indicated that Xbox has developed a strategy with which they will work from a variable price target. This creates the space to respond directly to a PlayStation 5 promotion at a lower price. All the more reason to follow the next price war closely.
