Bose has released a new SoundLink speaker. The SoundLink Flex is a portable speaker that is waterproof and has an extra sturdy design. The device costs $149, but it is not certain whether the device will come to the Netherlands.
Flex is the first truly portable speaker in the SoundLink line. The appliance is intended for outdoor use, in particular because of the rugged design and its dimensions of 20×5.3×9.1cm. The device weighs ‘less than half a kilo’. The speaker is also water and dustproof and has an IP67 rating for this. The battery life is up to 12 hours, according to Bose. Charging is done with USB-C, but Bose does not write how fast that is.
The speaker can automatically detect how it is oriented and then adjust the sound accordingly and the device can also reduce noise. The speaker can be paired with up to eight devices via Bluetooth, and users can also pair multiple Flexes together for stereo sound. The Flex has physical buttons for volume and for pausing or playing music.
The Flex costs $149. Converted and with VAT that is about 155 euros. Bose does not say whether the device will be for sale in the Netherlands. Other SoundLink devices are.
