The 2006 world champion saw fellow countrymen Harrie Lavreysen, Jeffrey Hoogland and Matthijs Büchli reach the quarterfinals. Laurine van Riessen reached the next round in the sprint.
36-year-old Bos finished third in his heat, while a place in the first two was required to continue. Also in the resit the Hierdenaar could not enforce a qualification for the next round.
