Börse Express – New York Stocks: Markets Under Pressure

video-tag-article">

On Wall Street, investor sentiment remains tense on Thursday. The focus was on disappointing Walmart numbers and the ongoing discussion about a return of inflation. The Dow Jones Industrial fell 0.57 percent to 31,432.48 points in early trading. However, it remained within the scope of its fluctuation range the day before, when it barely made it into the plus and was thus able to just beat its previous record.

According to stockbrokers, as bond yields rise, concerns are growing that higher borrowing costs could put an end to the record rally for the time being. This can also make fixed income more attractive in the future as an alternative to stocks. The market-wide S&P 500 fell against this background on Thursday by 0.64 percent to 3,905.99 points.

According to stockbrokers, however, investor concerns weigh particularly heavily on technology companies, which will generate a large part of their cash inflows in the future and are therefore particularly vulnerable to inflation. In addition, star investor Warren Buffett most recently from tech giant Apple shifted to default values. The technology-heavy selection index Nasdaq 100 fell 0.90 percent to 13 576.33 points./tih/he
