Börse Express – Aktien New York Outlook: A positive start to the 2022 stock market year expected

NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – A firmer opening is becoming apparent on the US stock markets on the first trading day of the new year. Brokers referred to positive indications from the strong European stock exchanges. The broker IG assessed the Dow Jones Industrial just under an hour before the start of trading, up 0.43 percent to 36,494 points. The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 saw IG around 0.7 percent higher.

The shares of Tesla are likely to start the new year with a jump in price after the record-high number of deliveries by the electric car manufacturer. In pre-opening US trading, they jumped 6.8 percent.

Tesla brought 308,600 vehicles to customers in the fourth quarter, while the market had expected only 263,000. In the entire year, the company has a good 936,000 deliveries, an increase of 87 percent compared to 2020. The pioneer in car electrification wants to maintain an annual increase of at least 50 percent in deliveries in the long term./edh/jha/
