Magelang, Central Java – Last Saturday (4/6/2022), the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Panjaitan has shocked the public with his rise entrance ticket for traveler who visited Borobudur temple.
The increase in the price of admission for local tourists is Rp. 750 thousand for visitors who want to climb the temple, while US $ 100 will be charged for foreign tourists who want to climb the Borobudur Temple.
Meanwhile, students who want to enter the Borobudur Temple area for educational purposes will be charged Rp 5,000.
However, this sparked controversy in the community, so the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut and the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo decided to postpone the implementation of the price increase.
According to Ganjar, there is still a need for further studies with PT. Temple Tourism Park (TWC) Borobudur and Borobudur Conservation Center.
