Borderlands: Jamie Lee Curtis joins the adaptation of the video game

Jamie Lee Curtis joins Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart in the cast of Borderlands, the movie adaptation of the video game by Eli Roth.

A few months ago we learned that Cate Blanchett was joining the cast of the film adaptation of the video game Borderlands in the role of Lilith while Kevin Hart would play the soldier Roland. Today it is another famous actress who joins Eli Roth’s film. Jamie Lee Curtis should indeed play the role of Dr Patricia Tannis, a scientist and archaeologist from Pandora; very important character of the video game franchise since recurring in the three components.

Produced by Lionsgate, the feature film takes place in the distant future where four adventurers travel to the planet Pandora in order to find an Ark supposed to contain all the treasures of the Universe. Patricia Tannis is a non-playable character in the video game but the latter has a key role since she could know where the key to the Ark sought by Lilith, Roland, Mordecai and Brick is located.

Released in 2009 and developed by the Gearbox studio, Borderlands is a mix between role-playing and first-person shooter. The video game has had two sequels, several video game spin-offs and grossed millions of dollars.

The film is directed by Eli Roth and written by Craig Mazin to whom we owe the mini-series Chernobyl. No shooting date has yet been announced. In the meantime, Jamie Lee Curtis will resume his cult role of Laurie Strode in Halloween Kills, the penultimate installment of the horrific saga, scheduled in our theaters on October 20, 2021.
