This Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Bouscat (Gironde), 7 women’s rugby finals were held. The main whole of this day, during which the meetings were linked, is that the Bordeaux Stadium was crowned champion of France Elite 1 for the first time in its history.

The Girondines, who beat Blagnac (27-23), thus succeed to Stade Toulousain of Gaëlle Hermet, beaten in the semi-finals. For the Haut-Garonnaises of Marjorie Mayans, crushed in closed scrum, the blow is hard to take, beaten on the 3rd time in a row in the final. Stade Bordelais scored 4 tries, by Kondé, Sylla, Sochat and Annery.

Stade Français goes back to Elite 1

Relegated last season Stade Français won the title of French Elite 2 champion by defeating La Rochelle in the final (3-22). It was thought that the meeting would be tighter, the two teams having finished very close in the standings at the end of the regular phase.

Lucile Donot, through 5 penalties, notably sanctioned the indiscipline of the Rochelaises, caught in all areas of the game. The Stade Français thus goes back to Elite 1.
