Government planning to make a further dose of the covid-19 vaccine or booster as a condition for traveling back and forth on the Eid holiday 1443 Hijri or 2022 AD.
Vice President Ma’ruf Amin assessed that the booster was able to become a new prerequisite parameter in line with the government which began to abolish the results of the Covid-19 examination as a condition for domestic travel since March 8.
“And then also the booster. We will even make the booster a condition later if people want to go home. So there is no need for something like the PCR test or the Antigen,” Ma’ruf said in Bandung in a voice recording published by the Setwapres, Monday (22/3). ).
Ma’ruf also reminded residents to immediately access a complete primary vaccination or two doses. Vaccination, he said, was one of the efforts to create community immunity herd immunity by creating high antibodies against Covid-19 in the community.
Ma’ruf then appealed to people who are in the category of elderly citizens (elderly) and have not received the complete vaccine to immediately carry out the second and third doses of vaccination.
“That’s why vaccination is so important,” he said.
On the other hand, Ma’ruf claimed that the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia had begun to show a downward trend in cases and was almost under control. He gave an example that health protocols at mosques are now starting to be relaxed because cases are getting under control.
However, Ma’ruf requested that the worship service adhere to health protocols such as wearing masks and washing hands.
“So the places of worship have begun to be given leeway and there has been a fatwa from the Indonesian Ulema Council to be able to hold worship as usual,” he said.
Separately, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy has signaled the community to carry out homecoming activities for Eid 2022.
Even so, Muhadjir admitted that the government was still tidying up the rules related to going home.
He then requires residents who are allowed to go home for those who have carried out complete vaccinations 2 times and booster vaccines. It aims to maintain safety and prevent the public from the corona virus.
