From Saturday, the local authorities will not immediately punish if a catering facility, theater, sports or other event does not check the corona admission tickets (CTBs) of visitors. Intervention is only taken in the event of repeated or intentional non-compliance with the inspection obligation. This is followed by a warning, an order subject to a penalty or closure of the location. That is the outcome of consultations between the cabinet, mayors, the Public Prosecution Service, the police and entrepreneurs.
An order subject to a penalty is an instrument of the government to end or prevent an unlawful situation. According to the ANP news agency, the government can impose a penalty of EUR 2,500 to EUR 10,000 if CTBs fail to check.
Municipalities, the police and the Public Prosecution Service mainly check where they consider the risk of non-compliance or the risk of contamination the greatest.
It was already known that the cabinet is making 45 million euros available for the period October to December for the hiring of security guards or inspectors who help entrepreneurs with the control of the CTBs.
From Saturday, the corona pass is mandatory for access to the catering industry, the art and culture sector and (sports) events. Visitors must also have an ID with them.
