Bolivia reported the largest shipment of cocaine ever seized, Reuters reported.
We are talking about confiscated 8.8 tons of cocaine worth 224 million dollars on local markets, but which would be quoted twice as much in Europe. The shipment was intercepted in the western Bolivian department of Oruro.
The country’s president, Luis Arce, said it was the largest shipment ever detected in the country. He clarified this in a social media post where he said the drugs were hidden in packages of lumber for flooring in a truck. The shipment was most likely destined for the Netherlands, where its market value would have reached 526 million euros.
During the operation, four suspected drug traffickers were arrested and nine searches were carried out.
