Latvian cyclist Māris Bogdanovičs also won the third place in the second stage of the “Baltic Chain tour” cycling trip on Friday.

The winners of the stage were decided at the finish, when the fastest was the host Raits Ērms from the “Tartu 2024-Balticchaincycling.com” team. He covered a distance of 173.6 kilometers from Tartu to Valga / Valka in three hours 59 minutes and 23 seconds.

At the same time, Lithuanian Darjus Džervus took the second place. but the third was Bogdanovich.

The tour will end on Saturday, when the third stage of the plain with the start and finish in Valga will be 175.7 kilometers long. After the start in Valga, cyclists will measure their way to Smiltene, Valmiera, Strenči, Smiltene and will return to Valga around 14.50.

Last year, Emīls Liepiņš triumphed in the Baltic Chain Tour, but four years ago Māris Bogdanovičs won the laurels.

The “Baltic Chain tour” bicycle ride in honor of the unique non-violent campaign “Baltic Way” in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia was renewed in 2011. Last year, the tour did not take place because no state support was received for the organization of the Latvian stage.
