BNP Paribas customers see their transfers made twice due to a technical problem


Antoine * never had an overdraft in the bank. Hence his surprise, Saturday morning, when he saw while checking the state of his account that he was in the red. In reality, like several other BNP Paribas customers, two of its transfers were made in duplicate, for a total expense of 3000 euros, instead of 1500.

“I tried to call customer service but the waiting time was very long, at least 20 or 25 minutes. Usually, I don’t wait more than 7 minutes before having an advisor, ”he explains. After the third try, he finally manages to reach someone.

“The advisor told me that there had been a computer bug since last night (Friday),” he says. But no official communication from the bank has been made on this subject, on its website or social networks.

BNP Paribas is however widely sought after Friday evening, especially on Twitter, where several people have reported the same problem as Antoine.

This is the case of Alexandra: on February 28, she paid her rent of 750 euros by bank transfer. But on Saturday morning, his online account indicated a second transfer of the same amount, made on March 3. While it did not appear Thursday, the last time she had verified his account. “I even doubted and thought I made the transfer twice by mistake,” she quips.

Back to normal by Tuesday?

“Luckily, I received my pay last week, so I had enough on my account. But 1500 euros in less than a stroke, it stings, “she continues. “Still hoping that it will be resolved quickly, otherwise the month looks complicated! “

Antoine has another bank card, but he wonders about people with a card with a spending limit and who do not have the possibility of going to the weekend in their agency, for example. During her interview with customer service, the counselor told her that the problem should be resolved by Monday or Tuesday.
