Ten young broadcasters, ten hot newcomers – that’s the New Music Award! This year the award for “Newcomer of the Year” goes to Blumengarten from Velbert (NRW), the “Starter of the Year” is Ayliva from Recklinghausen.
What do Kraftklub, tape recorder, Red Hat Raphi, OK Kid and Leoniden have in common? They all had it before their big career breakthrough New Music Award won. On December 14, 2023, the young programs from ARD and Deutschlandfunk Nova presented the New Music Award for the 16th time – and the winners of the category “Newcomer of the Year” are flower garden! As part of an awards show that was broadcast on radio throughout Germany on all participating programs, the participating stations presented Germany’s most promising newcomers on Thursday evening. Blumengarten: About the newcomers of the year

Behind the name Blumengarten are singer Rayan Djima and producer Samuel Eikmann. They both met at school, but only started making music together after they graduated in 2021.

Ayliva was able to achieve several successes and break records in 2023. This included, among other things, a sold-out tour through the largest arenas in Germany, a number 1 album in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with “Schwarzes Herz” and numerous streaming hits.
With a total of 15 songs that were placed in the single top 100 at the same time, she was able to place more titles there than any other artist before her. Thanks to over 40 million streams in the first week after the album release, Ayliva has also set a new record here. With an almost sold-out tour of the country’s biggest arenas, their success will continue in 2024.
