Blackberry comeback in 2021 will have a 5G QWERTY cellphone: ok techno

JAKARTA – Blackberry has indeed lost quite a reputation in recent years. Especially after touch screen phones get attention among the public.

Even so, Blackberry will be back in the community starting in 2021 in the American and European markets. Quoting Endgadget, a security startup company from the United States, OnwardMobility has announced their collaboration with BlackBerry Limited and FIH Mobile Limited, a subsidiary of Foxconn Technology Group.

Through this collaboration, they plan to present the latest Blackberry phones that can support 5G networks. But not carrying the touch screen concept, the phone will still feature a QWERTY keyboard.

“BlackBerry is very pleased that OnwardMobility will present a BlackBerry 5G smartphone device with a physical keyboard that takes advantage of the high standards of trust and security synonymous with our brand,” said BlackBerry CEO John Chen in a statement, quoted by Endgadget.

The BlackBerry mobile phone project is not new. Screenrant reported that in 2016 BlackBerry also had a collaborative project to present a new mobile phone with TCL Communication.

The project succeeded in spawning several new devices within four years. Unfortunately, in February, TCL did not officially extend the project and all products stopped selling.

Meanwhile, the QWERTY keyboard which will be present next year has also been present in TCL products and has sold 850,000 units. Although that number is not comparable to the success of Blackberry’s golden age, so OnwardMobility looks like it will have to attract more than that if BlackBerry doesn’t want to fail again.
