25 years ago, a group called Black Eyed Peas landed in the music industry. They quickly became world famous, thanks to their futuristic aesthetics, their innovative projects and their original musical style. The group started with hip-hop / pop mix songs with electronic touches, and gradually became one of the most important groups on the planet.
However on June 2, 2017 Fergie, the group’s vocalist, announced that she had made the decision to embark on a path in solo music. A news that was a before and after in the group.
After Fergie’s departure, the group went through a real roller coaster. Many people spoke of Black Eyed Peas not surviving without it. However, they managed to get afloat and continue releasing songs that would become world hits, such as ‘Ritmo’.

Now, Black Eyed Peas members have spoken about the group’s Fergie march, and how it affected them both professionally and personally, since they were (and still are) a family:
“We love her and she is focusing on being a mother. That is very hard work, and it is what she really wants to do and we are here for her… It is the way Fergie designed it so we are respecting its design. We love Fergie, and we don’t want anything other than great things for her, ”explained Will.i.Am in an interview with ‘Billboard’. “But unfortunately our agenda has been displaced by her desire to want to be a great mother, and she wants to focus on it,” added Apl.de.ap.
And after years in which they have been alone, they have finally incorporated a new member to the band: J. Rey Soul, and thus they have spoken about her group members “I feel like we are giving birth to a new artist, J. Rey Soul. I want to congratulate and respect her. What the classmates gave – Ferg, is focusing on being a mother – but we have an incredible artist that we are developing, ”Taboo explained in the same interview.
