sport">The organization of the stage race, which normally goes through Belgium and the Netherlands, is looking for alternatives to the Thursday and Friday rides. “Wednesday will be a rest day and for Thursday we will come up with an alternative in Belgium before the start,” says Gert Van Goolen of organizer Golazo. The start of Thursday’s stage was planned in Philippine, in the municipality of Terneuzen in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, the finish is in Flanders.
sport">Friday’s stage would largely go over Dutch territory with a finish in Sittard-Geleen. The organization is looking for an alternative for that day. “We try to schedule a time trial on that day,” says Van Goolen. “We think it would be good to have a time trial in the stage schedule.” Saturday’s stage will be held all the way in Belgium and will certainly continue, Van Goolen assures.

sport">The mayors of the Dutch municipalities took the decision on Tuesday evening to cancel the journeys in the Netherlands in response to the adjusted national measures due to the corona virus, which were announced on Monday, September 28. These measures have been ratified in the new emergency regulations of both the South Limburg Safety Region and the Zeeland Safety Region. According to the mayors, it is not possible to comply with the stricter measures. The emergency ordinance states that an audience may not be present at sports matches.
