Bílek: It was more of a fight than good football, Sparta bet on strength!

Did you expect Sparta, who suffered a four-goal debacle in the derby against Slavia last time, would put up a lot of resistance?

Sparta is a strong and quality team. At the table, however, he is not in the places he would like to be. We knew it would be difficult, that the opponent could push us in some phases of the match. In the beginning it happened like this, but over time we got better. Sparta, on the other hand, lagged behind. We created a small advantage, unfortunately it did not lead to the goal.

Did your opponent surprise you by changing the lineup with three stoppers?

He has already played in the second half at Slavia. So we have given some allowances for that. But we didn’t expect them to field four stoppers and many defenders. He was betting on strength, he had many tall, physically resistant players. It was more of a fight than good football.

Did Sparta defeat you with your weapons, aggression, consistency?

It could be counted. The Spartans who entered have high physical parameters. It was an even match, drawn, decided by penalties.

You have played 10 more games this season than Sparta, which are not related to the European Cups. Does Pilsen not run out of strength at the end of autumn due to the demanding schedule?

I don’t want to find excuses for a busy schedule. We had three days to be together after the match against Barcelona. I don’t want to think if we have lost due to many games. But it is true that we have very significant losses due to injuries.
