In the capital London, more than seventy people are now in quarantine after being infected with the South African variant. Especially in the south of the city there is a mini outbreak. The British are not taking half measures and in the London boroughs of Wandsworth and Lambeth ask everyone over 11 years of age to take a preventive PCR test. It is the “biggest test operation to date” to suppress a variant.
“It is important that everyone contributes. PCR tests are now available and I would like to ask anyone who lives, works or travels in the areas to test themselves, even without symptoms, ”said NHS Test and Trace chief Susan Hopkins.
