The deputy and former Green National Councilor Christian van Singer leaves the Grand Council. Aged 70, he says he wants to “make room for younger people” than him. In his letter of resignation, he listed his favorite subjects: environmental protection, opposition to nuclear energy and GMOs, chemical pollution, heritage protection, defense of public service, support for the unemployed.
A pillar of the Vaud section of Sortir du nuclear, he was a member of the Vaud Constituent Assembly, a member of parliament from 2000 to 2007, then a national councilor from 2007 to 2015. He returned to the cantonal parliament in 2017.
A citizen of Lutry, Christian van Singer was a professor of physics.
